Bharat­Bala Pro­duc­tions (BBP) is a film com­pa­ny with of­fices in Mum­bai and Chen­nai. The com­pa­ny is run but a mo­ti­vat­ed set of own­er man­agers, led by Bharat­bala and Kani­ka My­er, pro­fes­sion­als with over 30 man-​years of me­dia ex­pe­ri­ence be­tween them. BBP has been wide­ly ac­claimed for its pro­duc­tion cal­iber and unique treat­ment of sub­ject mat­ter, and in the pro­cess has won a host of awards, lo­cal­ly and in­ter­na­tion­al­ly. From a pri­ma­ry fo­cus on ad­ver­tis­ing films (the com­pa­ny has made more than 300 TV com­mer­cials for both In­di­an and In­ter­na­tion­al brands in the last 20 years), BBP has suc­cess­ful­ly ex­pand­ed its scope of ac­tiv­i­ties to in­clude pro­jects driv­en by in house de­vel­oped con­cepts, pro­duced and sold to gen­er­ate mul­ti­ple and longer term streams of rev­enues. The most well known of these pro­jects are the Van­de­mataram & Jana Gana Mana films, which cul­mi­nat­ed in rev­enues from 250 short-​TV films, mu­sic video, and mu­sic al­bum and even mer­chan­dise sales. The Van­de­mataram film was the fi­nal­ist at pres­ti­gious fes­ti­vals like Cannes and New York Film Fes­ti­val in 1998.
