I decided to do Meri Maa, as a song for my mother because she understands this song even better than I do. Shankar Mahadevan beautifully sung this song for the movie Taare Zameen Par, and now I decided it would be the perfect song to sing to her today. The song features a boy who sent far away from his mother, and how much he misses her during their time apart. This is one of Mother’s Day’s best songs amongst the Indian population, and is truly heart touching. This is one of Shankar’s best songs. I used acoustic guitar, the Grand Rhapsody Piano, and acoustic drums, to create a soulful ballad instrumental. This is one of Nikhil Iyer’s cover songs, be sure to check out all his others!!
